On 15 May 2026, the second edition of the international PUT STEM Day 2026 conference took place at Poznan University of Technology. The event brought together undergraduate students, PhD candidates, and early-career researchers representing a wide range of disciplines within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It provided an excellent platform for presenting research results, exchanging experiences, and establishing new scientific collaborations. Particular emphasis was placed on interdisciplinarity and the use of modern technologies in contemporary research.
We actively participated in the event by presenting our research both in the form of an oral presentation and scientific posters. The following contributions were presented during the conference:
- An experimental study of bulk HfS2, ZrS2 and HfSe2 monocrystal surfaces exposed to ambient air (oral presentation)
- High-field galvanomagnetic response of graphene and InSb-based hallotrons (poster)
- Thermally Induced Correlation Effects in metal/PtSe2 heterostructures studied by Raman Spectroscopy (poster)
PUT STEM Day 2026 was not only an opportunity for us to showcase our own research. We also contributed to the scientific programme by chairing the Chemical, Physical and Materials Engineering session and moderating the accompanying discussions. This provided a valuable opportunity to learn about research topics pursued by participants from various STEM disciplines and to exchange ideas in an interdisciplinary environment.
We are particularly pleased with the engagement of students and PhD candidates, who had the opportunity to present their work to a broad audience and gain valuable experience in scientific communication!
