From 10 to 12 December 2025, the third edition of the NEA Global Forum Rising Stars Workshop took place at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. This prestigious event was organized by the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency and was held during Nobel Week, giving it a unique context and significance within the scientific community.
The workshop brought together 40 female students and early-career professionals in the nuclear sector, representing 38 institutions from 18 countries. Participants presented their research, shared professional experiences, and took part in discussions on the future of nuclear energy, nuclear science, and technology. The programme fostered international networking and knowledge exchange between young researchers and experienced leaders in the field.
One of the highlights of the workshop was the keynote lecture by the 2023 Nobel Prize laureate in Physics, Anne L’Huillier, who spoke about her career path, challenges in scientific research, and her work. Her talk inspired further discussions on the role of women in science and the importance of mentoring and international collaboration in STEM fields.
The NEA Global Forum Rising Stars Programme focuses on supporting women at an early stage of their careers in nuclear science, education, and policy by developing leadership skills, providing mentoring, and building global professional networks. We are proud to announce that Wiktoria received second place in the competition for the best and most outstanding presentation, titeled:
Toward Radiation-Hard Magnetic Diagnostics: Testing Graphene Sensors for Tokamaks
which represents a significant achievement and confirms the high quality of the research presented.
