Projects for young scientists!

Our youngest staff recently had the opportunity to demonstrate their ingenuity in planning and precision in describing their scientific research! This year, young scientists had the chance to compete for funding for their scientific projects (often their first) in two independent internal competitions at the Poznań University of Technology.

The first one, known from previous years, is the so-called “SBAD Young Staff” competition for researching to develop young scientists at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technical Physics of PUT. The program is financed from the FoMSaTP subsidy and aims to prepare young scientists for future teamwork within research groups, as well as to gain the necessary experience in conducting their research projects, which will enable efficient application for project financing from external funds in the future.

The second competition is the so-called “PhD Boost” – a new program addressed to PhD students of the PUT Doctoral School, which aims to support the implementation of research related to the preparation of doctoral dissertations, as well as the scientific development of PhD students.

We are pleased to inform you that PhD students from the DoSPaN team have proposed a total of two project applications that received funding:

  • For “SBAD Young Staff” competition: Determination of the effect of exposure to atmospheric air on the physical properties of ZrS2 single crystal
  • For “PhD Boost” competition: Analysis of the stability of graphene/SiC systems in strong magnetic fields and cryogenic temperatures

We sincerely congratulate you and wish you success in their implementation!
