Between March 9 and 11, 2025, a 3-person delegation from WIMiFT visited the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, including 2 members of DoSPaN: Vice-Dean of WIMiFT for Education, and Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Polish Vacuum Society. The host of the meeting was the Institute of Applied Materials (IAM-AWP), which organized a seminar with presentations by representatives of the Management and scientific staff of IAM-AWP and members of the WIMiFT delegation. The program of this meeting also included visits to scientific and technological laboratories.

The scientific agenda of the meeting included the following topics:

• Nuclear Fusion: Basic principles and state of the art
• Laser Processing and Characterization of Electrodes for Lithium-ion Batteries
• Properties and processing of selected 2D materials
• Materials Engineering at the molecular and atomic scale

The hosts indicated the wide possibilities of scientific cooperation between our units and the exchange of scientists, doctoral students, and even students. Both parties declared the preparation of specific proposals in the scope of the above cooperation, including the preparation of joint applications for research projects! It is worth mentioning that since 2006 the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology has held the category Excellence, which is held by 11 of the best universities in Germany.
